Younis Khan honoured by his department UBL

Karachi: The legendary Pakistan batsman, Younis Khan has been honoured by his department, United Bank Limited (UBL) at a glittering ceremony here on Monday.

 

The president and the CEO of UBL, Wajahat Husain paid rich tribute to Younis Khan and termed him amongst the finest batsmen in Pakistan’s history.

 

At an impressive presentation held at the UBL head office, former Pakistan captains Rashid Latif and Moin Khan said Younis deserves to be acknowledged on every forum since he has played a huge role for the country, both as player and as a fine human being.

 

The former Pakistan captain, Younis Khan, recently retired from international cricket as the country’s only batsman to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket. Younis represents UBL in the domestic circuit.

 

Addressing the attendees, Younis vowed to continue serving Pakistan cricket in whatever role comes his way.

 

The other speakers too spoke really highly of Younis Khan and described him as a great asset for Pakistan.

 

Mansoor M. Khan, one of the UBL executives who is also member of PCB’s governing body, said that Younis was a great asset for Pakistan.

 

The UBL President gave Younis a souvenir and a cheque of Rs 2 million as a “token of appreciation”.

 

Many former players and sports personalities graced the occasion including ex-players Jalaluddin, Abdul Raqeeb, Chishty Mujahid and head of UBL sports Nadeem Khan and marketing head Ali Habib.
