Optimistic Azhar returns to Lahore next week

Karachi: Pakistan’s top order batsman, Azhar Ali is all set to return to Lahore next week after completing the rehabilitation programme, on his troubled knee.

Talking to this correspondent, Azhar Ali described the rehabilitation programme, under Dr Zafar, as excellent.

“The rehabilitation programme went really good and I am feeling much better now. I will return to Lahore on November 21st Insha Allah”, Azhar Ali said.

Azhar Ali went to London on October 16th, this year, for the treatment of his knee injury, which forced him to skip the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Earlier, in the Test series against Sri Lanka, Azhar Ali played after taking pain-killing injections.

Azhar Ali, 32, further said that after returning to Lahore, PCB doctors would monitor his medical reports before prescribing the future course.

“Dr Sohail will examine my knee and medical reports. I am hopeful to make a return, to the national team, soon”, Azhar Ali concluded

The Pakistan team management has earlier expressed the desire to see Azhar Ali fit and available for the upcoming tour to New Zealand, starting in January next year.
