“Informal” fitness tests begin in various cities

KARACHI: Designated trainers of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been overseeing fitness levels of players in all regional squads however a source claims that the intensity of these fitness examination was not that high.

“The purpose of these tests is to check on players’ state after the lay-off. They are being asked to perform burpees and Yo-Yo along with the height and weight assessments”, the source said.

“Apart from the high performance centres in Lahore and Karachi, players went through tests at various cities across the country”, the source added.

The source further said that Balochistan players would undergo fitness Tests in their respective cities on Monday.

“It is also expected that full-fledged fitness examinations will be carried out before the commencement of the first class season. Of course COVID-19 Tests are also part of the process which is likely to begin from Monday”, the source concluded.
