“Pakistan U19 tour to Sri Lanka not cancelled but deferred”

KARACHI: The shadow of doubt is definitely over the Pakistan Under-19 outfit’s tour to Sri Lanka however the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) hopes the series would be rescheduled for near future.

“The tour (of Pakistan U19 team) is not cancelled. We are having discussions with PCB in order to reschedule it”, An SLC official told this correspondent.

“We (the SLC) have requested the PCB to postpone it for a short time”, the SLC official added.

The Pakistan Under-19 team was set to leave for Colombo on April 30th to play a couple of four-day games followed by three one-day matches against the home outfit.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also optimistic about a positive outcome of the uncertain situation.

“We fully understand the situation and discussing all possible options with the Sri Lanka Cricket regarding the tour”, PCB spokesperson said.

“As we speak, the tour has not been outrightly cancelled. The talks are still on”, the PCB spokesperson added.
