Is Mohammad Irfan eligible for selection?

December 22, 2017 | By

Karachi: The New Zealand series is just around the corner for which the final squad will not have the tall fast bowler, Mohammad Irfan.

“Irfan was not even considered because the PCB has not yet cleared him for selection”, a source claimed

Mohammad Irfan was penalised for breaching PCB anti-corruption code by not reporting corrupt approaches.

Mohammad Irfan was barred from playing all forms of cricket for a year – with six months suspended. His suspension started from March 14, 2017.

Mohammad Irfan is also involved in the ongoing spot-fixing probe against Shahzeb Hassan as a “prime witness”.

A well-placed source claims that in his interviews, before anti corruption investigators, Irfan had been accusing Shahzeb Hassan of wrongdoings.

“In his latest interview too, before anti-corruption tribunal, Mohammad Irfan reiterated that Shahzeb offered him to fix a spot during the last PSL”, the source said.

Shahzeb Hassan’s lawyer however refuted the claim & termed it a version of PCB via the tall paceman.
