PCB to consider naming NSK after Hanif

Karachi: The legendary cricketer Hanif Mohammad will be remembered forever for his unprecedented services for Pakistan cricket. This was stated by the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Sheharyar Khan after meeting with the family of Hanif Mohammad here on Wednesday.

Shaharyar Khan visited the residence of the late Hanif Mohammad to condole with his family members.

“A number of options are under consideration to honour Hanif Mohammad and naming the National Stadium Karachi after him is one of them”, said Shaharyar Khan

“Hanif Mohammad shaped up the future of Pakistan cricket with his heroics, he deserves a fitting acknowledgement”, PCB chairman added

Earlier the chairman of the PCB executive committee, Najam Sethi also proposed to change the name of the National stadium after Hanif Mohammad.

“I propose we name Karachi Cricket Stadium after Hanif Mohammad. Howwzat?”, Sethi tweeted on August 14th.

Hanif Mohammad, the 55-test veteran, passed away in Karachi on August 11, 2016 after prolonged illness.
