No dual role, Younis will report to CEO

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Younis Khan, last week, reached an agreement after which the legendary batsman was appointed as the batting coach of the Pakistan Cricket team for a couple of years.

According to a source, the settlement between Younis and the PCB is a “win-win agreement” for both parties.

“Younis placed a few conditions which were agreed upon”, the source stressed.

“Younis Khan’s role will not be dual as such while he will also report directly to the chief executive officer”, the source said.

“Younis will have a dedicated office at the Karachi stadium premises but his main responsibility will be to look after the national team players. He will impart training to batsmen at the academy as and when required”, the source added.

Younis Khan was appointed Pakistan’s full-time batting coach until the 2022 T20 World Cup. His contract could be extended for another term, till 50-over World Cup in 2023.
