KARACHI: The name of Southern Punjab leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood is under consideration to replace still not fully fit Shadab Khan in the T20i squad for the home series against the visiting South Africa.
As per the information available to this correspondent the squad will be announced after the first Test match.
Deliberations for the slot of an allrounder are also underway with names of Ammad Butt and Amer Yamin, along with Faheem Ashraf, are being discussed.
The dilemma seems to be on opening spots with names of Sharjeel Khan and Azam Khan have also surfaced with Fakhar Zaman.
Abdullah Shafiq is likely to miss the cut in the T20i series beginning from February 11th in Lahore with the remaining games on February 13th & 14th at the same venue.
