South Africa to utilise Karachi Gymkhana premises on Karachi visit

KARACHI: The South Africa cricket contingent, which is due in Pakistan next month on a Test & T20I tour, will use the facilities at the Karachi Gymkhana during their stay at the local hotel in Karachi.

“Since the Karachi Gymkhana will be adjacent to the team hotel therefore the facility would be conveniently encircled into the bio-secure bubble”, a PCB official told this correspondent.

“During the quarantined period the South Africa team will be training at the ground in the Karachi Gymkhana”, the official added.

Team South Africa will reach Karachi on January 16th, 2021 to play the first Test from January 26th. The Test series will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship. The three T20Is will be played in Lahore and will be South Africa’s first-ever T20I series in Pakistan.

South Africa tour to Pakistan schedule is as follows.

26-30 January: 1st Test, Karachi

4-8 February: 2nd Test, Rawalpindi

11 February: 1st T20I, Lahore

13 February: 2nd T20I, Lahore

14 February: 3rd T20I, Lahore
