KARACHI: In a bid to avoid recurrence of a 2009 Lahore like attack, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has bought four bulletproof vehicles to ensure the security of the visiting and the national teams in the future.

One of the four busses will probably be sent to Karachi.

Apart from Zimbabwe’s tour in May last year, no international team visited Pakistan since the deadly attack on the visiting Sri Lankan team in Lahore on March 3rd, 2009.

The attack, near the Gaddafi stadium, left six security personnel and two civilians killed while five cricketers and an umpire got injured in the incident.
