Karachi: Pakistan’s most successful Test batman, Younis Khan has had another distinction to his name as he became the first Pakistani to cross the landmark of 10, 000 runs in Test cricket.

Younis Khan surpassed this outstanding milestone in the first test match against the West Indies in Jamaica.

The veteran batsman credited his success and achievement to his family members and the late Bob Woolmer, who, Younis said, always motivated him as coach.

Reacting to Younis’ kind remarks, the son of the late former coach, Dale Woolmer felicitated the senior Pakistani batsman.

“A massive congratulations to Younis. It is an incredible achievement to pass 10,000 runs in Test cricket.”, Dale Woolmer said in a video message, telecast on a private TV channel, News One.

Dale, who lives in the U.K., also recalled Younis’ great association with Bob Woolmer and thanked him for remembering his late father on the especial occasion.

“Younis had a special bond with my father. For him [Younis] to credit my father with part of his success for the achievement is amazing”, Dale Woolmer said.

Bob Woolmer, who died in 2007, coached Pakistan in the mid-2000. He had a very good reputation amongst the Pakistan players.
