Security concerns just excuse: Misbah tells Bangladesh

December 23, 2019 | By

KARACHI: The head coach of the Pakistan Cricket team has said that Bangladesh’s reluctance to a full tour to Pakistan is uncalled for after a successful trip by Sri Lanka to play limited-over and Test matches series.

Addressing the media at the National stadium in Karachi, on Sunday, the former Pakistan skipper termed Bangladesh’s approach an excuse.

“It will be hugely disappointing if Bangladesh doesn’t come for the Test series. I don’t understand their reluctance at this stage. If they can come T20i then why can’t for Tests?”, Misbah asked

“Pakistan already play only a handful of Test matches therefore Bangladesh’s refusal will be unfair on our players too”, Misbah, who is also the chief selector, stressed.

Misbah, while praising the current performance of the team, clearly said that room of improvement is still there. He especially lauded young pacemen Shaheen Shah Afridi and Nasim Shah.

Misbah welcomed Azhar Ali’s return to form and hoped that Yasir Shah, too, would hit the track soon.

On a question regarding Fawad Alam, the head coach hinted that the southpaw would be provided with a proper opportunity.
