Karachi Blues clinch National T20 Cup

Multan: Karachi Blues won the National T20 Cricket Cup after beating Karachi Whites by three runs in a thrilling final at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Karachi Blues won the toss and elected to bat first.

After losing first two wickets for 28 runs, there was a partnership of 112 runs for the third wicket between Fawad Alam and skipper Khalid Latif.

Fawad Alam remained not out on 67 whereas Khalid Latif scored 70. Mohammad Sami scored 20 runs off just 10 balls as they scored 182 for 3 in 20 overs.

Karachi Whites had an opening wicket partnership of 61 but then spinners Saeed Ajmal, Muhammad Nawaz and Muhammad Asghar picked up wickets at key moments to make sure that Karachi Whites do not chase the total.

Karachi Whites, chasing 183 runs in 20 overs, fell three runs short of the target as they managed 179/8.

Opener Zain Abbas scored 47 runs from 39 deliveries with five fours and a six while Tariq Haroon made 38 runs from 17 balls with the help of four sixes.

Asif Zakir and Sohail Khan scored 32 and 24 runs respectively for the Karachi Whites.

Mohammad Nawaz was named the Player of the match.
