PSL fixing probe net widens

Karachi: The ongoing inquiry into the corruption scandal during the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has expanded as the PCB anti corruption unit summoned two more cricketers for questioning. “PCB anti corruption unit has summoned Shahzeb Hassan and Muhammad Irfan for questioning in connection with the ongoing inquiry into corruption and contacts with bookmakers”, a source said.


“The duo is likely to be questioned on Monday and Tuesday in Lahore”, the source added

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already charge-sheeted Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif for their alleged involvement into wrongdoings during the recently concluded edition of the Pakistan Super League.


Both players have denied the charges and will now appear before a three-member inquiry commission which includes Justice Haider (R), former PCB chairman Lt. Gen ® Tauqir Zia and former Test wicketkeeper Wasim Bari.
