KARACHI: Another action-packed day at the Brighto presents Osaka Naya Nazimabad Ramzan Cup where Omar Associates and Karachi Port Trust won their opening games against Agha Estate and Alamgir CC respectively. Test star Umar Akmal scored quick 37 runs.
In the first match of the day, Omar Associates scored 218 runs for 4 wickets. Usman Khan topped the batting card with 45-ball 71 while Saud Shakeel and Umar Akmal scored 41 and 37 runs respectively.
In reply, Agha Estate couldn’t hold on to their ground and kept on losing wickets in quick succession. Test batsman Asad Shafiq emerged as the leading wicket-taker with 3 scalps as Agha Estate ended up with 145 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Usman Khan earned the man of the match award.
The second encounter of the day culminated in a one-sided manner where Alamgir CC lost to Karachi Port Trust (KPT) by 38 runs.
Batting first, KPT managed to put up 172 for 6 on the board. Sajjad Hashmi and Muhammad Hasan excelled with 68 and 54 runs respectively. In reply, the Alamgir CC batting line-up never looked settled and bundled out for 134 runs in the last over. Nasir Owais picked up 4 wickets for 22 runs. For Alamgir CC Ashir Ahmed remained the top scorer with 42 runs. Sajjad Hashmi, of KPT, was declared man of the match.
On the third day, K-Eectric will face Rehman Foundation while SSGC will lock horns with Port Qasim Authority
