Karachi: All-rounder Shahid Afridi has decided to skip the fitness tests of contracted players, being held at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, due to an injury. “I have told the PCB that I won’t be available for fitness test due to knee niggle”, Afridi said

Shahid Afridi is eying the upcoming season with English county Hampshire hence doesn’t want to take any risk.

“I want to regain fitness for Hampshire T20 stint. Will undergo fitness test as soon as I’m available for selection”, Afridi added

Muhammad Hafeez, Haris Sohail and Imad Wasim are also absent due to injuries and will undergo fitness test later. Test captain Misbah ul Haq is away for Umrah and will go through the test upon return.

The fitness tests of all contracted players are being held between May 8 and May 12 at the NCA.
